If you're new to running and not sure where to start
or your last pair of shoes were from Walmart.
If as soon as you hit the pavement, you wish you were back home.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If your nipples chafe so much they bleed
or you're not sure of the difference between Brooks and Sauconys.
If you don't enjoy a Gu as much as an ice cream cone.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If the only thing you ran last year was out of money
or you discovered that exercise doesn't make just your nose runny.
If you don't know the difference between Air, Gel, and Fresh Foam.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If the thought of a treadmill makes you sick
or you have no idea what it means when they tell you to "kick".
If instead of running, you'd rather be watching Game of Thrones,
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If you swore the only time you'd be seen running was if you were chased
or the last time you tried trail running you fell flat on your face.
If exercising for more than 5 minutes makes your heart feel like it'll explode,
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If you never thought about whether you land on your midfoot or your heel
or you're unsure of how split shorts make you feel.
If you only think of an auto parts store when you hear 'get in the zone',
Don't worry, you're not alone.
If you think running at 5 A.M. is a beyond crazy
or the memory of the last time you ran more than a mile is a little hazy.
If you just want a smiling face to help you discover the unknown,
We welcome you to Playmakers, you're not alone.
Like other runners, DJ failed at just about every other sport before joining the track team in middle school. Inspired by the timeless classic Cool Runnings, DJ’s dream was to become a member of a Jamaican bobsled team. However, the weather in Georgia, his home, did not offer very many training opportunities. Finally realizing that his only real talent was running in circles, he stuck with it, eventually joining the Georgia Tech Cross Country and Track teams. DJ’s hobbies include chillin’ with his awesome cats, Batman and Robin, pretending he can bowl, being bad at volleyball, and looking super awkward while trying to rock climb.
